The desktop folds down with two substantial and high quality "soft open" hinges. The internal width and height of the cabinet when closed, is sufficient to accommodate most 27" monitors so this desk can accommodate all-in-one desktop computers such as the 27" iMac (check your monitor dimensions: if the monitor stand has a depth greater than 205mm it will be necessary to mount your monitor on the wall using a VESA mounting bracket).
The Large Desk can accommodate even larger monitor sizes.
We do not use plywood or surface laminated mdf or chipboard. We use solid 18mm thick (edge laminated) oak.
We can supply the desk finished with varnish or wax (or in a natural untreated state so you can apply your own).
- Matt Varnish is the hardest wearing. - Wax is an all natural product with an enticing smell and does not deepen the shade of the oak as much as varnish
Note: The desk will need to be screwed to the wall. T brackets are supplied for doing this. It is important to verify the wall you will be mounting the desk on is suitable for supporting the weight of the desk (if, for example, the wall surface is plasterboard, it may not be). If in doubt, please ask a local tradesman to verify.
